MeMy name is Andrew Buch.  I am a recent graduate of Berklee College of Music, having majored in Film Scoring and Bass Performance with an additional emphasis on Video Game Music.  I'm 23 years old and have been a musician all of my life, and a bassist for over half of it.

I have worked professionally on the Guitar Hero series at Harmonix music.  Originally a tester, I was their star-player and managed to sneak a hidden song into the first Guitar Hero (titled Trippolette) before moving onto audio work on Guitar Hero II and Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the '80s.

I am currently offering my services as a freelancer to develop songs for the Rock Band Network.  This is a new service from Harmonix that lets anyone publish and sell their own music in the game.  I prepare the songs from start to finish, taking multitrack stems and turning them into game content.  I am working with a variety of artists, bringing their music to the game. I have been featured on JamBase.com, and Umphrey's McGee's website.

I enjoy performing and composing in almost all styles.  Some specific influences would include Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Bob Marley, Phish, Muse, and Radiohead.  While my main instrument is bass, I play piano and guitar as well, and dabble in some other instruments.

As of late, I can often be found playing music on NINJAM.  This is a free service that allows you to jam in pseudo-realtime with people world-wide.  I can be found lurking around the servers under the name "phNord."

I am also an amateur coder, with most of my programs dealing with music in some fashion. My main goal with various programs has been to find ways to create instruments for those who are less musically inclined - finding ways to bridge the gap of experience.

As far as hobbies go...I am very into video games and interactive media in general.  My favorite titles would include Braid, Today I Die, Okami, Shadow of the Colossus, Final Fantasy VII & X and Katamari Damacy, amongst many others.
